Application Development

In order to support the FieldFact promotion and awareness campaign as well as the training activities, a set of demonstrator applications was developed that implemented the so-called "priority applications" that were identified in the Critical Analysis Phase. Following the directions of the stakeholders platform and the results of the Critical Analysis Phase, two demonstrators were developed by the FieldFact project: The Low End Demonstrator (LED) and the High End Demonstrator (HED).

The development of the demonstrator applications followed an incremental development approach. Among others Use Cases were used as a means to describe required functionality. The Functional and User-interface Designs for the demonstrators describe the developed functionality. As part of application development activities a reference architecture was developed for GNSS applications in agriculture. This reference architecture was applied successfully as the architecture for the implementation of the FieldFact demonstrator applications. Moreover, it can be considered a generic architecture for GNSS applications in and outside the agricultural sector.
