Analysis of GNSS use in agriculture

This analysis describes the major GNSS applications currently found in agriculture. In addition, literature review has shown the considerable potential of GNSS. Based on discussions with stakeholders, articles in magazines and scientific papers the three main motives for farmers to invest in GNSS are i) efforts to improve production efficiency at the farm; ii) efforts to improve customers' confidence in agricultural production and distribution process; and iii) efforts to ensure appropriate use of public aid, by applications for both farmers and controllers. The analysis results in a definition of priority applications to be considered in the project.

The analysis also yielded a set of requirements for the development of GNSS demonstrator applications. Also requirements towards the use of spatial data are recorded. And the report also contains recommendations for training and demonstration.
